Jordan Allan (born 07 February 1995) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a Left back for Stirling Albion.
Allan began his career in Scotland with Dundee United, and spent time on loan with Albion Rovers, before joining Scottish league 1 club Greenock Morton in 2014. He made 8 first team appearances before signing for Montrose in January 2015. After playing 6 times for Montrose , Scoring twice and surviving the Pyramid play off .Allan broke his right leg whilst playing in a trial game for Brechin City and was out of action for 3 months. Allan returned to training in October 2015 where he joined Selkirk in the lowland league for a total of 6 games, scoring 7 goals. Allan then Joined Derry City for season 16/17 and had a loan spell with Coleraine while in Ireland. Allan returned at the end of season 16/17 where he joined Elgin City. This season Allan plays for Stirling Albion
Early life
Allan was born in Glasgow, and was a pupil at St.Lukes High School in Barrhead until 2012.
Club career
Dundee United
Allan joined Dundee United at the age of 13 as a left-back, and signed a full-time contract as a striker in july 2012. Allan was injured in a Under 20's tie against dunfermline which saw hiim out of action for 4 months at the start of teh 13/14 season. Allan signed for Albion Rovers in december 2013 on an emergency loan until January 1st 2014. He made his debut for them in a Second Division league fixture against Annan Athletic in december 2013.
After returning to United in January 2014, Allan made 7 more appearances for United's under 20's side before being released in may 2014.
Greenock Morton
In July 2014, Allan decided to try his luck and train through the summer at an exit trial, set up by former footballer and present pundit Gordon Diezel. Allan was snapped up by Morton whilst playing as a left back in the final game of the exit trial. Allan turned out for Morton a total of 8 times and netted once during his spell at Cappielow. He also received a red card in the first game of the season.
Montrose
After leaving Morton in December 2014 , Allan found himself a new start at Montrose. Under the watchful eye of Paul Hegarty, he was converted back to his first position as a striker. Allan played the final 6 games if the season and scored 2 goals. the club found themselves in the Pyramid Play-offs that year but managed to survive in the final game , winning 3-0.
Selkirk
Allan proceeded to leave Montrose in summer 2015 and again found himself at exit trials. This time at the PFA. Allan unfortunatley suffered a break in his right leg which put him out of the exit trial game , and out of football for 4 months. Allan returned to action in October/November 2015 and opted to sign for Selkirk in the lowland league after a meeting with former Hibernian striker Gary O'Conner .Allan played 6 times for Selkirk and netted 7 goals.
Derry City
Allan was offered a trial in December 2015, and signed in January for the 16/27 season. Allan played only 5 times for Derry City before going on loan to Coleraine.
Coleraine
Allan signed for Coleraine on loan in October 2016, and signed permanently in January 2017 for the remainder of the season. Allan made 29 appearances for Coleraine , Scoring 11 goals, Including 2 late goals in a derby, and helped Coleraine reach the final of the Irish Cup.
Elgin City
After deciding to come back home , Allan had successful trials with Maltese Team Valetta and Scottish Championship side Dumbarton but could not reach personal terms on either. Allan then signed for Elgin City in the SPFL league 2. Signed as a striker , Allan netted 4 goals between starting and coming off the bench between August and December 2017. After converting back to Left back, Allan played every minute for the remainder of the season and scooped up the clubs young player of the year award.
Stirling Albion
At the end of the 17/18 season , Allan had impressed a few clubs, but the only offer was made by Stirling Albion. Allan signed in summer 2018 and is currently playing as a left back.
