Bishop Joseph Maisha ( born in 1951),is a Kenyan Bishop, Philanthropist and Evangelist. Joseph is the bishop of Ushindi Baptist Church Majengo Mpya Likoni,Mombasa County and also the founder of Ushindi Baptist Primary School and Bishop Joseph Maisha Foundation(April 2017).

Bishop Joseph maisha was born in the year 1951in Kapsotik village,Vihiga County. Only God knew what a great blessing to humanity He had gave, for it is written “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” Jeremiah 1:5. He grew up under his parents care and above all God’s love until he was ready to school. The man of God spent his early life with his peers, and never missed all the childhood games, which taught him kindness, peace, unity and Love. He attended kapsotik primary School for his lower studies and later got an admission to Allidina Visram high school upto A level. All this was God’s plan in preparing His servant for the great mission he did not even know of. He later got an admission to Kenyatta University where he pursued Bachelors in Sociology. He also went to Africa International University and attained Masters in Christian Education Bishop Maisha is married to Florah Langwen They have five children. It was time for God’s will to have its way, and in 1983 God spoke to Bishop Joseph Maisha three times a day for three days about making disciples of all nations and to reach the unreached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was called to deliver those who are bound to heal the sick, the lame and the blind. He was also commissioned to the deaf and the dumb, to the barren and to assist the needy in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. At first, Bishop Joseph Maisha was employed by the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) but he had to resign in order to serve God better. God transformed him into what he wanted him to be. The old had gone, the new had come, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 He later started assisting people in his house at WAITIKI by then and as the number of the believers multiplied, he asked God to grant him a place to build the foundation of Ushindi Baptist Church and as the Bible says in Mathew 6:33 that, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” He was granted his request and in the year 1992, he build Ushindi Baptist Church in Likoni through the help of God. The church has witnessed a tremendous growth since its formation and several branches and satellites have been built by the mother church led by Bishop Maisha. God has been faithful. Bishop Maisha is fond of helping people, following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, through community support programs, education, sports and scholarship. Ushindi Baptist primary, built by the Bishop and the believers is home to the needy and homeless. These children get food and education plus scholarships to high schools and even university level.
