Joseph Ragno (born March 11, 1936) is an American actor.
He is best known for Ray Zephro in The Phantom (1996), Ernie in The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and as Stubby in A Fish in the Bathtub (1998).[1]
Early life[edit]
Ragno was born in Brooklyn, New York on March 11, 1936.
Career[edit]
From 1986 to 1989, Ragno played the role of Jock for two episodes on the show The Equalizer.
Ragno's guest appearances on television include L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, New York Undercover, Seinfeld, Third Watch and The City.[2]
Ragno's film appearances include Daylight, Pictures of Baby Jane Doe, The Secret of My Success, Men of Respect and The World of Don Camillo.
Ragno played the role of Miller Huggins in the 1992 baseball film The Babe, featuring John Goodman and Kelly McGillis, and played the role of Ernie in the prison drama film The Shawshank Redemption (1994), featuring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
In 2015, Ragno played the role of Roy Healy in the television series Jessica Jones, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
