Joseph Uliano
Joseph Uliano is the founder/executive producer of Black Label Content. a full service production company/ creative agency that specializes in "on air" network marketing and promotions as well as long form content. Most recently Uliano completed his 4th Oscars campaign with the 87th Academy Awards, he also received Gold PROMAX awards for Best On Air Consumer Tie-in Brand Integrated Campaign.[1]
Recent branding and advertising work includes ABC's, Duets, The River, Missing, Castle, Revenge, Scandal, ABC marketing and promotion for the Oscars, The Emmys, The American Music Awards and Dancing With The Stars. The live integrated campaign for the MTV Awards. Other branding and integrated marketing projects include The Interactive global launch for Mattel's EAH.
Uliano is also an executive producer at wondros – a collective of many well-known names in film and television. From Film to IMAX 3D theatrical work to television and the world of immersive viral video, executive producer Uliano has assembled a group of directors who have created some of the most watched content in the world.
Uliano works with some of the most prolific creative talent in the business and award winner Jesse Dylan, renowned filmmaker Antoine Fuqua, noted Sundance and TV helmer Mark Pellington, Oscar-nominee David O. Music content[edit]
Uliano's work consists of a wide variety of productions in musical content, from live concert events and documentaries, to music videos. He has worked with a wide array of talent such as Bruce Springsteen, Beck, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, U2, Lana Del Rey, Gwen Stefani, David Guetta, Faith Hill, Prince, The Foo Fighters, Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Lil Wayne and many more.
Uliano has also Executive produced one-hour specials for network, cable and PBS. Recent work includes NBC primetime special event: Fireflies: Faith Hill Live, as well as Ron White's Behavioral Problems, a one-hour show for Comedy Central, and the John Tesh Big Band special on PBS. "Live Event" television includes The Foo Fighters, I Love Rock n' Roll, Metallica Live in Mexico City, Muse in Madrid, Darius Rucker, Avril Lavigne's Best Damn Tour, Tenacious D's The Pick Of Destiny. As a documentary producer, Uliano also received a Telly Award for Best Cultural Program and the AEGIS Best Documentary Award.
Art[edit]
Uliano joined artist Francesco Vezzoli in the Italian Pavilion for the 2007 Venice Biennale to produce an installation entitled "DEMOCRAZY". The project features Sharon Stone and French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy as U.S. Presidential candidates.
Also he produced a controversial art installation with Francesco Vezzoli that received worldwide acclaim during the 2005 Venice Biennale. It was then invited for an extended run at the 2006 Whitney Biennial in New York City. The piece is a remake of the 1970s film Caligula. Their 2005 update features Helen Mirren, Milla Jovovich, Benicio Del Toro, Gerard Butler, Courtney Love and many others. It was costumed by Donatella Versace.
Uliano, along with artist Bill Barminski, also created a video/art project for Baz Luhrmann's "Something For Everybody", which gained much notoriety and sold over 500,000 copies.
Academics[edit]
Uliano and artist Bill Barminski co-chaired and created a new concept class in the Graduate School of UCLA combining the film dept, design school and architectural school that brought to light new emerging creative digital environments and their commonality in the disciplines.
Uliano also was invited and sat on the development "Brain Trust" for Paul Allen's "Experience Music Project" and was instrumental in helping to create and launch programs for the museum.
He received his MFA from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
Sustainability[edit]
Joseph and his wife Sophie Uliano have launched "Gorgeously Green™", a lifestyle brand that features three New York Times bestselling books written by Sophie. The brand also includes a line of Life Style earth friendly products, as well as broadband and broadcast components.
Uliano was also a co-owner of the Hollywood hotspot and eatery Il Sole on Sunset Blvd from 2001-2010. It was picked as the "Oscars Hot Spot" by Good Morning America. Joseph is married to Sophie Uliano and considers his greatest body of work to be his daughter Lola.

Joseph was formerly an executive producer at Crossroads Films, where he founded merge@crossroads, a Los Angeles, NYC and London based production entity.
Before joining Crossroads, Uliano was a Partner and executive producer of Crash Films in Los Angeles.
Joseph's background in media is composed of many facets, having been the Spokesman for The Office of The Governor of Florida and the energy and conservation lobbyist for former Governor Bob Graham, where he created several award winning energy and conservation programs.
Joe is a Georgia native, a long time musician, a guitar collector, a photographer and an avid scuba diver.
