Joshua Axe
Joshua Axe, better known as Dr. Axe, is a Nashville, Tennessee doctor with his doctorate in chiropractic medicine, a certified nutrition specialist, author, certified doctor of natural medicine and clinical nutritionist.[1][2] Dr. Axe is a certified doctor of natural medicine (DNM) from the Certification Board of Nutrition Specialists,[3] earned his doctorate in chiropractic (DC) at Palmer College in Port Orange, Florida.[4][5]

In 2008, Dr. Axe founded the Exodus Health Center in Brentwood, Tennessee.[6] Dr. Axe centers his current practice on using food as a treatment for health concerns versus traditional medicine prescriptions and pharmaceutical treatments.[7][8][9] Dr. Axe has been featured on the Dr. Oz Show[10] hosted by Mehmet Oz, offering his opinion on metabolism health.

Dr. Axe is an active contributor for Entrepreneur Magazine[11] and Muscle & Fitness[12] along with offering insight on nutrition in Men's Fitness.[13] Dr. Axe authored a blog post concerning candida overgrowth published on the website of U.S. News & World Report.[14]
Dr. Axe has authored several books [15] including The Real Food Diet Cookbook,[16] The Secret Detox and a program on his website called Healing Leaky Gut focused on treatment of leaky gut syndrome. Considered alternative medicine, the programs and books contains tips, recipes, and information on foods suggested to improve metabolism and overall health.[17] Dr. Axe also operates BurstFit with his wife, Dr. Chelsea Axe.[18] BurstFit is a physical fitness program Dr. Axe combines with his nutrition programs.[19]
Olympic Support Team[edit]
In 2009, Dr. Axe began working with the Wellness Advisory Council. Dr. Axe's work with the council led to working with competitive swimmers, notably 11-time Olympic medialist Ryan Lochte[20] and Peter Vanderkaay,[21][unreliable source?][22][unreliable source?] providing nutritional advice and musculoskeletal work on athletes at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.[6]
