Joshua David Evans (born April 5, 1984) is an American singer, songwriter and YouTube personality. As of 2017, Evans' YouTube channel has earned more than one million subscribers and over 240 million views.
Personal life[edit]
Evans was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. He is the son of Lisa and Greg Evans, and the brother of Erin and Jeremy Evans. He studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.[citation needed]
Evans married fellow YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger in July 2015.[1][2] Evans announced his divorce from Ballinger in September 2016[3]
Career[edit]
Evans posted his first video on YouTube in 2008, through his channel "joshuad84". On this channel, Evans mostly posted song covers, spoofs and vlogs.[citation needed] Evans created his second channel, "JoshuaDTV" in 2010. Here, he mostly focused on comedy sketches, sometimes featuring self-performed characters such as Sara Dikulous.[citation needed] By 2014, his videos transitioned to more casual vlogs and collaborations.[citation needed]
In 2015, Evans began a series of live shows featuring mostly himself, with select guest appearances.[4] The show would be toured across America throughout the year.[citation needed] In the same year, Evans collaborated with Julien Solomita and Arnold Telagaarta to form a group titled "The Shadows", with whom he performed a live show in Tempe, Arizona.[5]
