Julian Posner
Julian David Posner (born 16 May 1958) is a British businessman and the founder of the events company Banana Split. Established in 1976, the company produces private and corporate events internationally.[1] Posner is also involved in a number of charitable organisations, particularly those supporting children.
Early life
Posner was born and raised in North London. He attended Park High School and later studied design and business studies at Cassio College, Watford. During his teenage years he worked as a DJ, which fostered his interest in entertainment and event production.
Career
In 1976, at the age of 16, Posner founded Banana Split as a travelling disco company. It has since developed into an international events agency, producing private and corporate celebrations in multiple countries.[1] Banana Split’s work has been reported in publications including The Times, Vogue, and New York Magazine. Vogue covered the company’s involvement in the wedding of Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc,[2] while The Times profiled Posner and Banana Split in an article on luxury event planning.[1] In 2024, New York Magazine interviewed Posner in a feature on weddings for the ultra-wealthy.[3]
Personal life
Posner supports a number of charitable organisations. He is involved with children’s charities including Rays of Sunshine and Art of Wishes Archived 2020-06-25 at the Wayback Machine, as well as other children’s and Jewish charities. His contributions include fundraising, donations, partnerships and advisory roles.
