Just Dance Controller (previously known as the Just Dance 2015 Motion Controller) is a mobile app for games in the Just Dance franchise.
This app is used for Just Dance 2015, Just Dance 2016, Just Dance 2017, Just Dance 2018, Just Dance 2019, Just Dance 2020, Just Dance 2021, and Just Dance 2022.

Just Dance 2015[edit]
In the first Just Dance 2015 release (v1.0.0) which is only available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, you will see the Phone icon on the game.
Just Dance 2016[edit]
In the Just Dance 2016 update (v2.2.0), the Ubisoft Logo animation has been added, but it had the logo music from Just Dance 2015. This was fixed in (v2.3.2). You can play on the PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U.
- This app also works with Just Dance 2015 and the Just Dance 2016 demo.
Just Dance 2017[edit]
In the Just Dance 2017 update (v3.0.0), the Steam and Nintendo Switch[1] (v3.2.4) versions are now playable.
- This app is also compatible with PS4 and Xbox One versions of Just Dance 2015, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U versions of Just Dance 2016 and the Just Dance 2017 demo.
In the Steam version of Just Dance 2017, you must use the smartphone, as well as the Stadia version of Just Dance 2020 onward and Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 versions of Just Dance 2021 onward.[2]
- If you decide to play without the smartphone, you have the option to connect the smartphone to the game.
- You can also play without the smartphone, but on the coach selection screen, it shows a warning that no smartphones are connected and scoring is not possible. The progress bar is also removed during gameplay.
Just Dance 2018[edit]
In the Just Dance 2018 update (v4.1.0), the photo booth option was removed, along with the Ubisoft logo animation to accommodate with the new Ubisoft logo.
- This app is also compatible with Just Dance 2015 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2016 on Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2017 on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam and the Just Dance 2018 demo.
Just Dance 2019[edit]
In the Just Dance 2019 update (v5.0.0), the ability to use the app on Just Dance 2015 was removed.
- This is because of shutdown announcement of online services for Just Dance 2014 and Just Dance 2015 (all consoles) and Just Dance 2016, Just Dance 2017 and Just Dance 2018 (7th generation consoles).
- The ability to use it on the Wii U and Switch is removed.
- This app is also compatible with Just Dance 2016 on Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2017 on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2018 on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam and the Just Dance 2019 demo.
Just Dance 2020 onward[edit]
In the Just Dance 2020 update (v6.1.1), the app added the new manual pairing option which allows players from other consoles to use it to play.
- The ability to use it on the Switch is added back.
- The ability to use it on Stadia is also added.[3]
- This app is also compatible with Just Dance 2016 on Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2017 on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, Just Dance 2018 on Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Just Dance 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and the Just Dance 2020 demo.
In May 2020, the crash was fixed.
In the Just Dance 2021 update, the ability to use it on the Xbox Series X/S and the PS5 was added.[4][5]
