Justin Eugene Evans (born March 1, 1973[citation needed]) is an American film director, cinematographer, screenwriter, producer, visual effects supervisor, inventor, Autism advocate[1][dead link] and college instructor.[citation needed] His feature film, A Lonely Place for Dying, was accepted into 43 film festivals, nominated for 56 awards and won 29 including 18 as Best Picture.[2][better source needed][3][4] He is the founder and president of BryteWerks,[5] a consumer electronics company.[citation needed] He is also a college instructor at The Art Institutes of Wisconsin.[citation needed]
Family history[edit]
His Volga German family immigrated to the United States from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1918 during the Bolshevik Revolution. His family's farm had been seized by the Bolsheviks and his great-great-grandparents had been murdered in the struggle. His great-grandfather, Aleksander Pfeiffer, came to America as an indentured servant and orphan.[6]
Early life[edit]
Justin Eugene Evans was born on March 1, 1973, in Honolulu, Hawaii.[citation needed] As a child, he lived in Clackamas, Oregon, and San Ramon, California.[citation needed] He attended Southern Oregon University before transferring to New York University's Tisch School of Arts.[1]
Autism[edit]
His son, David Aleksander Evans, was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in 2008. One of David's specialists diagnosed Justin himself with Aspergers six months later, in 2009.[1][dead link][3]
