Kecelyn Galdones, more popularly known as KC, is a Filipina volleyball player. She is a member and was the former team captain of the UST Golden Tigresses volleyball team for the 3rd PVL Collegiate Conference, and an Under-23 Philippine national team member.

Career[edit]

High School[edit]

As team captain, Galdones led the University of the East (UE) Girls Volleyball Team to its 80th Season of UAAP Juniors Volleyball.

Collegiate[edit]

KC Galdones debuted her collegiate career playing for UST Golden Tigresses in the 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. [1] UST reached the semi-finals but failed to finish in podium losing to the FEU Lady Tamaraws. After her debut in the 2nd Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, Galdones continued to play for UST in UAAP Season 81 as a starting middle blocker. Galdones did not receive any individual award for the 81st Season of the UAAP.

In her sophomore year, Galdones together with the rest of the UST Golden Tigresses joined the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. [2] In this conference, she was converted into an Outside Hitter (OH) but also played as a Middle Blocker (MB) in some of the games. UST had a second-place podium finish after losing to the AdU Lady Falcons in two consecutive games. [3] They will be participating in UNIGAMES 2019 in the University of San Agustin, Iloilo where they are to defend their UNIGAMES 2018 championship title[citation needed]

UAAP Season 81[edit]

Galdones and the Golden Tigresses had a second-place podium finish in UAAP Season 81, its first Finals appearance after eight years. She had a career high in the UAAP with 11 points during the semi-finals game versus the DLSU Lady Spikers.

PVL Collegiate Conference Season 3[edit]

Team Captain KC Galdones led the Golden Tigresses to a finals appearance in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference after sweeping the elimination round and defeating the Ateneo Lady Eagles in the semi-finals round.[4]

International[edit]

Galdones was part of the Philippine youth team that participated at the 2019 Thailand Open Sealect Tuna Championships which was held in Sisaket, Thailand.[5]

Personal life[edit]

Before becoming a Golden Tigress, Galdones was then a Junior Warrior of the University of the East girls' volleyball team together with co-Tigress Ysa Jimenez. She also became a guest player for the Holy Rosary College in 2017. <[6]

Galdones transferred to the University of Santo Tomas after graduating from senior high school because according to her, UST is her dream school.[citation needed] She is currently a second-year student-athlete in the UST Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) taking up a degree in Bachelor of Physical Education, Major in Sports and Wellness Management.
