Jose "Joey" Cabrera Montemayor Jr. (born February 17, 1962) is a Filipino cardiologist, medical technologist, lawyer, consultant and lecturer who ran as a candidate for the 2022 Philippine presidential election.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Montemayor was born on February 17, 1962 in then Sexmoan, Pampanga to Jose Guevara Montemayor Sr. a lawyer and Juliana Limpin Cabrera.[2][3][4]

Montemayor attended the secondary education at the Guagua National Colleges (GNC) in Guagua, Pampanga, graduating from high school in 1978. He earned in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and Doctor of Medicine both from the Far Eastern University (FEU) in 1982 and 1986.

Montemayor proceded to study law at the Philippine Law School in 2004. He passed the bar exams in 2011.

Career[edit]

Montemayor was a president and a member of the board of trustees of the Philippine Society of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventions (PSCCI). He is a consultant in clinical cardiology and interventional cardiology at St. Luke’s Medical Center, the National Kidney Institute, and the Philippine Heart Center.

Montemayor is a former board member of the Asia-Pacific Society for Interventional Cardiology (APSIC), former assistant secretary-general of the Philippine Medical Association, and former vice president of the Philippine Association of Government Corporate Lawyers (PAGCLAW).

2022 presidential campaign[edit]

On October 1, 2021, Montemayor filed his certificate of candidacy for president, running on promises to eliminate COVID-19 pandemic as well as corruption and criminality.
