Kim Candilora II (born November 28, 1990) professionally known as KC Supreme is an American record producer from Salt Lake City, Utah, who is part of the producer collective Internet Money, a record label founded by fellow producer Taz Taylor. He gained notice for producing the song Falling for musical artist Trevor Daniel[1] Supreme is also known for producing the songs "Worth It," & "Valentine" by YK Osiris, along with rapper Trippie Redd's "Til The End of Time" and Internet Money's single "Blastoff." Supreme's work consists primarily of hip-hop instrumentals, and he has contributed production to the Internet Money collective album B4 the Storm (2020).[2]
Career[edit]
Supreme first came in contact with producer Taz Taylor in 2016 at a music seminar in Los Angeles, forming a relationship with him based on their common method of selling and promoting their beats on platforms such as YouTube. Taz was in the process of starting the Producer Collective Internet Money when KC joined[3][4][5], and the groups focus was on selling beats online, releasing sound kits for producers to purchase, and releasing free production tutorials on the Internet Money YouTube channel.[6][7]
While Supreme began his producing career by primarily selling beats online, Internet Money entered the music industry in 2018 and the groups focus shifted to producing for major artists and labels instead of online beat sales.[8]
In 2018, he got his first major placement on Rich The Kid's song Small Things, which was originally suppose to feature Future & Bryson Tiller[9]. Supreme began working with Trevor Daniel after Daniel was discovered and signed as Internet Money's first artist signing. "Falling" was created during the first session they had together.[10] The song peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, has streamed over a billion times on Spotify[11], & was certified 4-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The song peaked at #1 on Top 40 Radio in July 2020.[12] The song also reached #1 on the Billboard Pop Airplay Chart [13] The song was later remixed by blackbear & Summer Walker [14][15]
Since then Supreme has become a Multi-Platinum Producer with numerous Billboard #1 awards, his production credits include Lil Uzi Vert, Future, Juice Wrld, Lil Tecca, Rich The Kid, Chris Brown & many more[16]. Some of his other notable records include, T-Pain ft. Chris Brown "Wake Up Dead"[17], Lil Tecca ft. Lil Tjay "All Star", Trippie Redd "Til The End Of Time".
In January 2020 Supreme inked a six-figure Publishing deal with 10k Projects & Universal Music Publishing Group.[18]
Later during 2020, Supreme contributed to the production of 2 songs on the collaborative Internet Money album B4 The Storm, which peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.[19] The album included frequent collaborators Lil Tecca, and 24kGoldn, all of whom Supreme has continued to produce for to date.[20]
Supreme was featured as a Variety Hitmaker of 2020 on the Variety (magazine) Hitmakers List for his production of the song "Falling".[21] Supreme also won a BMI 2021 Pop Award for his production of the song "Falling"[22] as well as a BMI 2021 Hip Hop & R&B award.[23]
Influence:
Along with other fellow Internet Money members, Supreme has been credited by some with the rise in popularity of "type beats", which aim to increase the popularity of an instrumental by associating it with well-known artists.
Supreme has multiple videos on the Internet Money Youtube Channel with over a million views.[24]
