Kaanapponnu is a Malayalam novel written by two writers, Parappurath and K. Surendran.[1] The novel was published in December 1982 by the Literary Workers Co-operative Society. The novel is a work by two writers.[2] After the death of Parappurath, the unfinished novel was completed by Surendran.[2]

Story line

A beautiful girl named Ribba, from a wealthy family, has to marry a not-so-handsome young man named Thomas Kutty, due to certain circumstances. The reluctance of Reeba towards Thomas creates tensions in their married life. Later, Reeba, through her acquaintance with Thomas Kutty's friend Sunaramanayana Rao, discovers the beauty of Thomas Kutty's mind.[2]

History of the novel

Parappuram committed to writing a novel as a series in Deepika's weekly and he began. Unfortunately, the work could not be completed because of his death. After his death, K. Surendran, a family friend of Parappuram, continued and fulfilled the work with the help of Sangeetha, the youngest daughter of Parappurath.
