Kacy Tellessen is a United States Marine and author.[1]
Biography[edit]
Early life[edit]
Tellessen was born in Spokane, Washington and grew up in Spangle, Washington. He became interested in writing after reading the Odyssey in high school.[2]
Military career[edit]
After graduating from high school, Tellessen enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 2005. He joined the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines as an infantry machine gunner.[3] Tellessen served two tours in Iraq, where his company suffered an 80% casualty rate.[4]
Post deployment[edit]
In 2021, he authored Freaks of a Feather: A Marine Grunt’s Memoir, which was based on his experiences in the war.[5][1]
Personal life[edit]
He is married and has a son.[4]
