Kafilat Araoye is a Nigerian banker and managing director/chief executive officer of Lotus Bank,[1] a financial institution which was granted a non-interest banking license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in June 2021.[2][3][4]

Education

Araoye graduated with a bachelor's degree in History from the Obafemi Awolowo University in 1985 and graduated with a M.Sc. in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management from the University of Lagos in 1987, graduating as the best student in her class.[5] She also holds Islamic Finance certifications from the Ethica Institute of Islamic Finance and the Islamic Research & Training Institute.[6]

Career

She started her career at National Oil and Chemicals Marketing Company Plc (now Conoil Nigeria Plc) in 1988 and then joined Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in 1990 as the pioneer head of Human Resources where she rose to become the general manager and left in 2005.[7][8] In 2022, she was appointed as the MD for Lotus Bank.[9]
