Kahootz is a software as a service (SaaS) company providing cloud-based file sharing, team collaboration and other cyber security services for enterprise customers and government agencies.The company’s software is especially known for its use across UK central government departments, local authorities, NHS Trusts and other public sector organisations. Kahootz software is also used by the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom)[1][2]The program is available via the government's G-Cloud framework.[3][4]The company was founded in 2003 in Weston, Berkshire.[5][6]

UK Government[edit]

Kahootz is a part of the UK' G-cloud security system and is extensively used by a number of the UK government departments, including the Ministry of Defence (MOD),[7]National Health Service (NHS),[8]Highways England, the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Quality Care Commission.[9]In 2014, The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) selected the Kahootz cloud services for its Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs) and Non-departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs).[10]In 2015, the MOD’s Information Systems and Services (ISS) introduced Defence Share, powered by Kahootz program.[11]In June, 2018, it was announced that Kahootz had become a part of the new governmental UKCloudX project for public services for the UK’s most critical and sensitive systems. UKCloudX had been built to provide a future infrastructure that meets the most rigorous security requirements for data at higher security classifications of the public sector. Among other partners of the UKCloudX are IBM, Leonardo, Leidos and CACI.[12]As of March, 2019, Kahootz had secured most of its contracts with the government via G-Cloud framework.[13]

Kahootz software's main function is to support secure online workspaces for a range of team collaboration tasks both for public and private sectors. Examples of support include policy development, document management, multi-agency working, tender management, virtual meeting rooms, client portals, extranets, intranets, committees, project management, special interest groups, gateway reviews, community forums, governance boards, supplier deal rooms and staff consultations.[14][15]Among Kahootz security services are "Workspaces", "Dashboards", "Secure File Sharing", "Document Collaboration", "Task Management" and more.[16]
