Kaj van der Voort
Kaj van der Voort (Beverwijk, 5 July 1996) is a Dutch musical actor and singer.
Career
In 2006, Kaj sang a duet with the Flemish singer Dana Winner. Some time later, he auditioned for Kinderen voor Kinderen. In 2007, he joined "Kinderen voor Kinderen 28" and sang the solo song "De Liefste Oma Van De Wereld", written by Claudia Breij. This song was also featured on the annual television broadcast of Kinderen voor Kinderen and can be found on the CD "Kinderen voor Kinderen 28". In 2013, he joined a boyband called B-Brave who became third on X-Factor.
Ciske de Rat (Musical)
He also auditioned for the musical Ciske de Rat. He came through the first audition and took part in the Musical School to be prepared for the role of Ciske de Rat, or any of the other roles in the musical. During the weeks on the Ciske School, he and the other candidates were followed by the TV show "Krijg toch allemaal de kolere" on Nederland 3 Z@PP.
Shortly after his start on the Ciske School, Kaj van der Voort, Dave Dekker and some others were selected by Joop van den Ende and Paul Eenens (Theatre Director | Director of Ciske de Rat) to perform with Danny de Munk at the Musical Awards Gala.
After several weeks, it was announced that Kaj was selected for the role of Ciske de Rat. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, he played this role several times.
Ciske de Rat came to an end on May 19 after he played more than 50 performances.
Award
At the end of 2008, a dream became reality for Kaj; he was going to make his first song. In Kerkrade, he sang his first song 'Engeltje' written by Jo Smeets. When The Geels Entertainment Centre nominated him in the category Musical Audience / Classical, the party was complete for him. On 19 January, the presentation took place of these awards during the New Year Party in Geels Bobs Party Palace in Uitgeest. He was not only there for his well-deserved prize, but he also performed with Jorge Verkerk. Together they sang the night away with the famous song "Ik voel me zo verdomd alleen" from the musical Ciske de Rat. Kaj also sang his own song 'Engeltje' for the first time.
