KALEB MITCHELL (musician)[edit]

Kaleb Mitchell (born October 27, 1998), is an American Hip Hop & R&B musician. He started his solo career in 2015, releasing the mixtape Soliloquy (2015).

Early Life[edit]

Kaleb Mitchell Bethune[1][2] was born on October 27, 1998, at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey. He started playing piano by ear at the age of five, and by eight had already decided that he wanted to become a rapper after watching Eminem's '8 Mile' film for the first time. He is the first musician to come out of Wharton, New Jersey.

Career[edit]

Kaleb Mitchell's recording career began in 2015, with a few free singles and the release of his first mixtape, Soliloquy, on July 10th, 2015, via SoundCloud. Kaleb's second mixtape, 45, was released on April 16th, 2016, again via SoundCloud. After accumulating millions of streams through SoundCloud and YouTube alone, his third and first commercial release, So Help Me God, came out on June 9th, 2017. SHMG independently peaked at #7 on iTunes' Hip Hop/Rap charts, and came in at #82 overall. In 2018, Mitchell again independently released projects MITCHELL and NINESEVENTHREE on July 13th and October 31st, respectively. MITCHELL entered the charts at #15, with NINESEVENTHREE accumulating over 100,000 streams within its first week, despite being a surprise release. In August of 2019, Mitchell inked a deal with Def Jam to re-release his fan-favorite, Get It. The track was picked up by the New York Jets as their 2019 season anthem. Get It was also in constant rotation on ESPN throughout the college football season, and was added to NBA 2K20's soundtrack. In early 2020, New York rapper Casanova hopped on the official Get It remix. Mitchell has hinted at the possibility of an album in 2020.[3]
