KaleidEO is an Indian space technology company, established as a subsidiary of SatSure, specializing in Earth Observation (EO) infrastructure and services. It is India's first private SpaceTech Earth Observation company.[1][2][3][4][5]
History
KaleidEO was established on July 5, 2022 as a subsidiary of SatSure to address perceived limitations in the speed and efficiency of Earth Observation data processing and delivery.[6][7][8]
Technology and Services
KaleidEO’s multi-spectral and hyper-spectral imaging technology is designed for applications in agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, and defense.
The company successfully tested an optical payload that achieved a 16 cm resolution during aerial testing. The satellite version of this payload is expected to provide a 1-meter spatial resolution, a 65-kilometer swath width, and multi-spectral capabilities for vegetation analysis, urban monitoring, and security applications.[9][10][11][12]
Events
In September 2023, KaleidEO became the first Indian company to demonstrate edge computing technology in orbit. This allows satellites to process raw imagery onboard.[13][1][14][15][16][17]
In January 2025, KaleidEO was selected as one of the seven Indian startups for the first-ever India-U.S. space and defense collaboration program. This initiative connects Indian private space firms with U.S. defense and aerospace companies, fostering technological advancements in satellite imaging, AI-driven data analytics, and edge computing.[18]
