Kanak Sarwar
Kanak Sarwar is a Bangladeshi journalist.
Education
Sarwar completed his PhD from the University of Dhaka. The main focus of his PhD thesis was Bangla folk song.
Career
Sarwar has worked with a number of newspapers and television channels including Daily Ajker Kagoj (1995-1998), Shaptahik 2000 (1998-2000), Janakantha (2000-2005), Channel i (2005-2007), and Ekushey Television (ETV) (June 2007–January 2015), working as a special correspondent (formerly chief reporter).
In March 2015, Sarwar and ETV Chairman Abdus Salam were arrested on charges of sedition for broadcasting a speech by exiled Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) politician Tarique Rahman.[1][2][3]

Sarwar is the author of three books about women empowerment, democracy, and good governance.
