Kang is currently training under the roof of Wangho MMA in South Korea. Kang has a notable win over Iranian World Championship Wrestling Gold Medalist and MMA star Amir Aliakbari.[3][4] In a big upset, Kang won against Aliakbari via first-round knockout by a Left Counter Punch.[5] Afterwards, he underwent surgeries and focused on rehabilitation before fighting again.[6]

He was described as a "knock-out artist" when he was still undefeated, with 5 wins.[7]
