The FuturFestival, known for sponsorship reasons as Kappa FuturFestival, is an electronic music festival held in Turin since 2009.

History[edit]

The FuturFestival originated in 2009 to commemorate the centenary of the futurism; it was held at Lingotto Fiere exhibition center. The promoters collaborated with the municipality to organize the 2010 new year's celebrations and the party for the election of Turin as European Youth Capital[1]. The venue was held in Piazza Vittorio Veneto hosting, as guest stars, Groove Armada and Juliette Lewis; approximately 7000 people partecipated to the celebrations[2]. In the 2010 the FuturFestival was held again at Lingotto, with the partecipation of Bloody Beetroots and of Tommy Lee. After a gap year, in the 2012 the festival was overhauled and it became a daytime, open-air electronic music festival; in the same year began the collaboration with the turin-based fashion brand Kappa. The first "new concept" Kappa FuturFestival was held on the 30th of june and on the 1st of july at Parco Dora; main guest were Deadmau5, Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim.
