The Kappa FuturFestival, known for sponsorship reasons as FuturFestival, is an electronic music festival held in Turin since 2009.
History
The FuturFestival originated in 2009 to commemorate the centenary of futurism; it was held at Lingotto Fiere exhibition centre. The promoters collaborated with the municipality to organise the 2010 New Year's celebrations and the party for the election of Turin as European Youth Capital[1]. The venue was held in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, hosting, as guest stars, Groove Armada and Juliette Lewis; approximately 7000 people participated in the celebrations[2]. In 2010, the FuturFestival was held again at Lingotto, with the participation of Bloody Beetroots and Tommy Lee. After a gap year, in 2012 the festival was overhauled and became a daytime, open-air electronic music festival; in the same year began the collaboration with the Turin-based fashion brand Kappa. The first "new concept" Kappa FuturFestival was held on the 30th of June and the 1st of July at Parco Dora; main guests were Deadmau5, Carl Cox, and Fatboy Slim.
