Karen Reed was born in 1964, October 1 in the United States, Nashville Tennessee, and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Graduate of Rollins College International Affairs. Attended University of South Carolina. Author, Book, An Eye For A Dream, President/CEO KDR Global Education Solutions – KDR Artist Management, Advocate of Education, Empowerment of Girls, Sustainability of Earth’s Environment, Space Science, Social Justice and Raising the Human Potential.
Biography Karen Reed is founder, President/CEO of KDR Artist Management Inc., which was established in Los Angeles California in 1989. KDR has many successes, including a number one artist produced by Nile Rodgers. Nile was Karen's mentor. Nile is responsible for 100,000,000 record sales worldwide and produced artists such as Diana Ross, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Duran Duran, Daft Punk,Keith Urban just to name a few. Other successes include formerly representing prolific Grammy Award winning writers and producers such as Andre’ Cymone who has 15 Multi-Platinum and gold records, Charlie Midnight 3 times Grammy winner and 6 times nominated with numerous Multi-Platinum records with artists, Britney Spears, Cher, Barbara Streisand, Bocello, Idina Menzel, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Doobie Brothers, Dan Hartman, Travis Tritt, Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Miranda Cosgrove, (ICarly) and Big Time Rush. STEDMAN GRAHAM – DR. THOMAS MARIDADA III Karen's skills have served her outside the entertainment industry as well. She developed a team of school turn around specialists and provided professional development training for school districts, teachers, principals, coaches and administrative staff. One example is the Inkster School District of Detroit Michigan where the district was saved from closure and the students test scores were doubled due to the collaborative efforts of Dr. Tom Maridada II, (who is the former Washington Headquartered Children’s Defense Fund Director of Policies, Practices and Strategic Alliances and is currently CEO of Bright Foundation for the State of Ohio), Ms. Karen Reed (President/CEO of KDR Artist Management Inc. & KDR Global Education Solutions), Dr. Lorraine Monroe (CEO of The Lorraine Monroe Leadership Institute in NYC) and Patrick Collins (son of Marva Collins). She is involved in implementing Stedman Graham’s, (Oprah Winfrey’s significant other) “Teens Can Make It Happen” a “Nine Steps Process for Teens” program throughout various educational and corporate initiatives along with “Identity Your Passport to Success” program based on his most recent book release. Another successful project example is her partnership through Dr. Thomas Maridada III, with The City of Pontiac Michigan School District and President Obama’s Promise Zone Initiative.
PRESIDENT OBAMA PROMISE ZONE INITIATIVE The Promise Zone Initiative is designed to give the students an economic opportunity to attend college. Karen Reed and Stedman Graham complemented that opportunity with proven sustainable programs within the Pontiac School District that provided each student a roadmap that prepared them to take full advantage of this opportunity. The Pontiac plan is one of only three approved by the state Department of Treasury out of 10 programs in Michigan. State Rep. Tim Melton former resident of Pontiac created the legislation to make the Promise Zone initiative possible.
FRANK MALVESTUTO – SPACE SCIENCE INNOVATIONS She has also been involved in capital formation for various corporate ventures and projects. Karen represented Frank Malvestuto, a former head of NASA Supersonic Aerodynamics Division Langley Research Center, who was also a Former Chief of Flight Science Division Lockheed California Corporation, in his pursuit of venture capital for patented technology, which dramatically increase aircraft, watercraft and spacecraft lift capabilities.
KDR GLOBAL EDUCATION SOLUTIONS She is currently involved in the creation and implementation of global education models in the development of future leaders, and the promotion through strategic alliances of transformational ideas and models to increase the human potential and sustainability of our planet’s environment through space science, medicine, ocean science, technology, cyber security, social justice, child advocacy, environmental science as the Executive Director of the 501c3 On Educo (ON-E). Karen is dedicated to reaching and surpassing barriers that prevent advancement of a positive sustainable world outreach through education and interaction that foster an environment and infrastructure that facilitates BIG ideas that lead the way to change and invite participation and the creation of ambassadors for advancements of better lives and a sustainable future.
INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS/RELATIONS Karen is an OPUS NOVUM Fellow. Her studies and experience in International Affairs along with being a member of the prestigious Sigma Iota Rho National Honors Society for International Studies had enabled her to effectively seek out initiatives and alliances. She heads KDR Artist Management Inc subsidiary company KDR Global Education Solutions where she is involved in transformative studies in building international relationships and cohesive goals and strategies for the alliance and advancement of diverse cultures, governance and societies toward the common goal of a coming together and building on the concept of oneness in that we are all connected and are of one world, one mind, one thought dedicated to the betterment of our existence, sustainability of our planet and enrichment of interdependence as global citizens.
FORMER HAUTE COUTURE MODEL Karen is from Chicago, Illinois, and established KDR Artist Management after relocating to Los Angeles following 15 years of employment with a top Fortune 500 company. Formerly a successful professional haute couture model exclusive to Suzanne Johnson’s A+Talent Agency,(Ford Agency Affiliate), photographed by many famous photographers such as Paul Gremmler, Ken Frantz, Robert Carl, Stan Malinowski, Madison and White. Runway model for FENDI, along with modeling the Fendi sister’s one-million-dollar fur coat, Yves St Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, CHANEL, Saks Fifth Avenue, I. Magnin, Bonwit Teller and many more. She left the bright lights for the board room of her own company and remains as President/CEO and founder of KDR Artist Management Inc. and its subsidiary organization KDR Global Education Solutions. Karen is a mother of two wonderful sons and resides in Orlando Florida.
