KarloCompare.com.pk is a web application that helps Pakistani consumers compare, apply for, or buy personal finance products such as credit cards, personal/auto loans, and insurance products.[1] KarloCompare is operated under CompareOn Pakistan Private Limited, which was founded in 2015 by two ex-bankers of Pakistani origin.

Background

KarloCompare.com.pk was launched by Sumair Farooqui and Ali Ladhubhai, ex-bankers who previously worked at United Bank Limited (UBL) and HSBC respectively. Prior to that, Sumair Farooqui was the VP and Unit lead for the Wealth Management and Investment Products line of business at UBL, and Ali Ladhubhai was at HSBC in branch banking leading the main branch operations.

Farooqui left UBL to help a leading international personal finance comparison operator from Asia set up their business for the Pakistani market; the international operator chose not to pursue the market opportunity at the last moment due to a shift in overall strategy. Upon the international comparison platform exiting Pakistan, Farooqui chose to continue the opportunity on his own.

Ladhubhai had left HSBC subsequent to its acquisition by Meezan Bank Limited to set up a travel aggregation platform for the Pakistani market.

The two had known each other previously and teamed up to launch the personal comparison platform.

Product and Services

Karlocompare is a web and mobile application that simplifies the purchasing journey pertaining to financial products. The platform enables consumers to compare the entire market across various personal finance product categories through its comparison tools and listings. Consumers are able to make informed decisions regarding products such as credit cards, personal/auto loans and travel/auto insurance free of cost.

Pakistani consumers are empowered through the platform’s listing and learning center. The company has dedicated its efforts to help Pakistani consumers save time and money when it comes to buying personal finance services available to them.
