Kaspar Friedrich Lossius

Kaspar Friedrich Lossius (31 January 1753 - 26 March 1817) was a German Protestant clergyman, teacher and writer.

Life

Born in Erfurt, he was the grandson of Andreas Lossius (1674, Grünhain - 23 October), who was himself descended from the Bohemian Hussite, and the youngest son of Christian Theodor Lossius (1 November 1703, Seyda - 20 February 1761, Erfurt) - Christian and Andreas both worked as deacons at the Barfüßerkirche in Erfurt. Christian Theodor married four times and Kaspar's birth mother was Christiana Margarethe Wendler (24 October 1716, Erfurt - 23 August 1786). His known siblings are:
