In July 1999, the Cattlehands Festival debuted as its first annual in Secaucus, New Jersey, which is minutes away from New York City. The team performed with the following mashup songs: ...Baby One More Time - Britney Spears, 1999 - Prince, Mickey - Toni Basil, et al.

The fourth annual took place in June 2002 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, which is 2 hours 30 minutes from Cowthorne's hometown.

In September 2002, the festival canceled automatically after four annuals because of Cowthorne watching porn videos. She was nine years old at the time.

2003–10: SimTunes and Imagine Cheerleader[edit]

In July 2003, after WXBT (100.1 The Beat) was launched, she joined SimTunes[3] along with her teammates, including Plucks, her favorite yellow bug. Her first project "Cattle Dreams" was created in late-September.

"My first SimTune project is that my favorite bug is along with 3 other bugz — Strings, Yo-Yo Pa and Sticks. My teacher wants to share this with me" —Katey

In March 2006, Katey Cowthorne wanted to get animated on video games, television or even comic strips. Manga adaptions from Japan may be work out, except a Nintendo DS game was coming, thanks to Japanese businessman Hiroshi Yamauchi. On February 3, 2007, on her 14th birthday, she created a second SimTune project "Cheer Lover".

"This is my first SimTune project in four years, because my passion is how cheerleaders like me are falling in love...except boys." —Katey

Even though the arrangement quality is atrocious, it's currently my only simtune that fits the season."
