Kathleen Fuentes, better known as KathleenLights, is a beauty guru on YouTube. She started her channel on January 26, 2013, and has since gained over 3 million subscribers and uploaded over 600 videos. She posts makeup tutorials, reviews, and reflections on her life.[1] Kathleen also started a less frequently updated vlogging channel called DaysOfOurLights on July 6, 2014; the last video there was on August 11, 2015, and it has only 152,246 subscribers.[2] Fashionista.com included KathleenLights in the 21 Most Influential Beauty Vloggers of 2016 list.[3]
Personal life
Kathleen is married to her best friend's stepbrother and a member of the United States Navy, Danny Fuentes.[4] They met at an early age and got married on November 22, 2010. She lives in Miami, Florida, and is of Cuban descent.
KL Polish
KL (KathleenLights) Polish is a cruelty-free nail polish line created by Kathleen, manufactured in the United States.[5] It officially launched on December 5, 2016, with six nail lacquer shades. Parsel called the nail polish line "stunning and affordable."[6] The brand's website claims that the product is 'five-free' and cruelty free.[7]
Collaborations
Colourpop (2014)
Fuentes collaborated with the Colourpop Cosmetics brand several times and has 22 separate products and three different combinations of those products on their website.[8] Her first launch with Colourpop happened in November 2014, and it was a lippie stix (the brand's version of a lipstick) named Lumiere.[9] She released two more collections with the brand in 2015; the first one being the Where The Light Is eyeshadow quad (or 'foursome') that launched in April 2015.[10][11] The second launch that followed in December that year was the Where the Night Is collection that included another eyeshadow quad and two lippie stix (the plural of a lippie stix as coined by Colourpop) with corresponding lip pencils.[12] Fuentes continued to collaborate with this brand until 2017. Her next product came out in January 2016, and it was an Ultra Matte liquid lipstick named Lumiere 2.[13] This shade is similar to her Lumiere lippie stix, but darker because it is a different formula.[14] She followed that with another collection that summer that included three Ultra Satin liquid lipsticks and a cream and gel liner. This collection launched on July 12.[15] Her most recent collection with Colourpop has been the Aquarius bundle, which was an extension of one of her lippie stix from the Where The Night Is collection. This bundle included three lipsticks, all similar in color but in different formulas: Ultra Matte, Ultra Satin, and Ultra Glossy.[16]
Ofra Cosmetics (2015)
Fuentes came out with two liquid lipsticks with OFRA Cosmetics in 2015. The first one, Miami Fever, launched on September 4, 2015, and is described as a "burnt, dark terracota" color by her.[17] Her second collaboration with this brand occurred months after the first and launched in December that same year; the color was named Havana Nights and is a darker "vampy brown red."[18]
Morphe Brushes (2016)
Fuentes collaborated with Morphe Brushes to create a favorites eyeshadow palette that included her favorite colors from the brand. The palette launched on October 25, 2016, and was limited edition.[19] The palette was restocked in January 2017 and is no longer available for purchase.[20]
Makeup Geek (2016)
Fuentes created a three-shade highlighter palette with Makeup Geek that launched on August 17, 2016.[21] This is her first ever highlighter palette and is limited edition.[22]
