Her "Get Ready With Me" (GRWM) videos where Fang does her skincare and makeup for the day, have been attributed to the rising popularity of products such as the Glow Recipe toner and the Drunk Elephant moisturizer.[1] Her relatability has also been seen as a factor in her success on TikTok.[2]
Early life and education
Fang was born in Taiwan. She has one sister, Erica.[3] Fang graduated high school in 2023 in Vancouver, Canada.
She attended the University of Victoria in 2023,[2] but has stated that she plans to transfer to a different school the following year.[4]
Career
Fang began posting on TikTok in 2020. Her first viral video, posted in February 2023, depicted her getting ready after being called into work unexpectedly, "bawling [her] eyes out." As of December 2023, it has almost 40 million views and 8 million likes. In July 2023, she was signed to United Talent Agency. She regularly gets around 1 million views per TikTok video.[2]
She has collaborated with well-known brands in the past, such as Skims, Drunk Elephant, Sol de Janeiro and Current State. Currently, she is partnered with The Ordinary, Saie, Function of Beauty, The Outset, Fenty Beauty, and Rare Beauty. As a result of her TikTok career, she has also met the founders of many of these brands, such as Scarlett Johansson and Selena Gomez.[2]
As of 2023, her Instagram account has 320,000 followers,[5] and her YouTube channel has 153,000 subscribers.[6]
Personal life
Fang has been open about her struggles with her mental health and depression while attending university.[4]
