Kazakh Academy of labor and social relations (Kazakh: Қазақ еңбек және әлеуметтік қатынастар академиясы / Russian: Казахская Академия труда и социальных отношений) — is a private higher education institution located in Almaty city, Kazakhstan. Also known as KazAtiso Academy.[1]
History and achievements[edit]
Kazakh Academy of Labor and Social Relations was founded in 1994 on the initiative of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Musa S. Bespaev. The Academy consisted of economic and legal faculties, where 50 people studied. In 1996, there were 282 students, including 225 full-time and 57 part-time students.[1]
In 1997, the Academy won a grant from the Eurasian Foundation funded by the U.S. government for the purchase of educational literature, the Almaty College of Economics and Law (ACEL) was established at the University, and the Ural Branch of KazAtiso (UV ATiso) was founded, which provides training in 4 faculties: Economics, International Economics, Law and Oriental Studies.
In 1999, the Faculty of Oriental Studies was opened with the Arab, Turkish and Japanese branches, and the issue of the scientific journal "KazAtiso Herald" was started.
In 2000, KazAtiso successfully passed the state certification of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, the Faculty of Social and Humanities was opened with the department of political science.
In 2001 the Ural branch of KazAtiso was transformed into an independent university - West Kazakhstan Academy of Labor and Social Relations.
In 2003 KazAtiso moved to two-level training of students (Bachelor and Master) on credit technology.[2]
In 2005, the Academy successfully passed the next State certification of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, won the grants "Roots of Grass" of the Government of Japan for the purchase of multimedia language equipment and a grant from USAID to create the Career Center.
In 2007, the Academy received a Certificate of Conformity of the Quality Management System, certifying that educational services of KazAtiso meet the requirements of ST RK ISO 9001:2001 "Quality Management System. Requirements".
In 2014, according to the ranking of the National Business Rating of the RK, the Kazakh Academy of Labor and Social Relations was awarded the sign "Industry Leader - 2014" and a personal Order of Star of Glory. Economy of Kazakhstan", which is evidence of recognition of the Academy's contribution to the development of the country's economy.
In 2015, the Academy was institutionally accredited by the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in education (IQAA) and received a certificate of accreditation for 5 years. IQAA's choice of agency was reasonable and determined by the fact that the accreditation procedure is universal, transparent and can be used for accreditation of both the university in general and educational programs of any level of education.[3]
In 2015, the Academy became the only university that received the "Choice of the Year" award in the category "Best Social Strategy in Education".[4]
In 2016, students of the economic faculty of KazAtiso were awarded special certificates of the National Testing Center for high performance of higher education among students of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan.
In 2016, new bachelor specialties will be opened: "Logistics", "Cultural and Leisure Work", "Information Systems", "Customs" and Master's degrees: "Computer Science and Software", "Psychology". The Academy takes part in the republican competition for the best dance flash mob among higher education institutions "One country - one people", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where among more than 20 universities, the flash mob of the Academy took 3rd place. The awarding ceremony was held at a gala concert dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Academy again receives the award "Leader of the Branch".
In 2017, the Academy passed a specialized accreditation. For achievements in science and education she was awarded the "Leader of the Year" award.
In 2018, the Academy launched a program for applicants "Become a student for one day," which has no analogues in any of the universities of Kazakhstan. The purpose of this program is to help applicants in choosing their future profession. The Academy is again awarded with the "Leader of the Year" award. New Bachelor's specialties "Management of Sports", "Tourism" and "Restaurant and Hotel Business" are being opened at the Academy.
In 2019 KazAtiso successfully passed the specialized accreditation, the students of the Academy of specialty "Cultural and leisure work" become winners of the XI Republican Subject Olympiad (Shymkent) among the universities of the RK. The achievements of our students do not end there, the 2nd year student of the specialty "Regional Studies" KazAtiso, Rustemova Shakhnoza becomes the owner of the 2nd place in the VII International competition on singing in Chinese. Contracts are signed with leading dual-training companies, such as "Soluxe Hotel Almaty", Football Club "Kairat" and others. A UN Information Resource Center was opened on the basis of KazAtiso.
On March 5, 2019 an audience was opened in memory of the founder of the Academy, Professor M.S. Besbaev.
According to the results of the national rating of humanitarian and economic universities of Kazakhstan, KazAtiso takes 10th place.
2020 New educational programs of Master's degree "Information Technologies in Logistics", as well as MBA (Business Administration) program are opened, academic mobility in the leading universities of foreign countries (Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, China) is developing.
In conditions of Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, KazAtiso becomes one of the organizers of the Republican Career Week, which was held for the first time in history in a remote format, which certainly shows the high level of professionalism of the Academy staff.[1]
