John Keith Oxley Arbuthnott, 17th Viscount of Arbuthnott, DL (born 18 July 1950) is a Scottish peer and a Deputy Lieutenant to the Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire.[1]
He was educated at Fettes College and North Scotland College of Agriculture. Although entitled to live at the ancestral home in the family estate, Arbuthnott House at Laurencekirk, Inverbervie, he has given this to his son and his family to stay in.[2] Instead, he and his wife live in the former manse of Arbuthnott Parish Church, which is adjacent to the church building.
He serves as an elder within the Kirk Session of Arbuthnott, Bervie & Kinneff Parish Church.
Family[edit]
Arbuthnott married Jill Mary Farquharson in 1974 and they have three children and five grandchildren:
- The Hon. Clare Anne Arbuthnott (born 24 June 1974) she married Hugh Craigie-Halkett in March 2001 and they were divorced in 2010. They have two sons. She remarried, to Steve Small, in January 2014.
- Archibald Robert Craigie-Halkett (born 5 July 2004)
- Charles Frederick Craigie-Halkett (born 23 May 2006)
- The Hon. Christopher Keith Arbuthnott, Master of Arbuthnott (born 28 July 1977) he married Emily Agg-Manning in April 2003. They have three children:
- Florence Mary-Jean Arbuthnott (born 24 December 2005)
- Alexander Nicholas Keith Arbuthnott (born 5 August 2007)
- Rosanagh Beatrice Arbuthnott (born 27 August 2009)
- The Hon. Rachel Sarah Arbuthnott (born 24 August 1979)
