Kendrick Chavez
Kendrick Nathaniel Chavez (born December 27, 1996) is a public speaker, fitness trainer, and entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Slight Edge Productions. His talk "The Power of Being a Teenager" was recently featured at TEDxYouth[1] conference in Santa Barbara, California. At 17yrs old Kendrick went on to launch a best selling fitness program led by teenagers Empower Workouts[2]
Career[edit]
Kendrick began his career in September 2013 competing in fitness competitions and martial arts tournaments in the United States[3] In 2014, Kendrick placed 1st place in NAGA world championship FTW state champions. With 30 plus gold medals and 2 world titles, Kendrick was in the top 5 rating for Teen grappler of the Year. In addition to this, Kendrick has competed in approximately 15 fitness competitions ranging from marathons to bodybuilding. In April 2015, it was announced Kendrick was making a fitness series starring teenagers.[4] The series, titled Empower Workouts, was released later that year on December 12, 2015. In June 2016, Kendrick announced that he will be starring in an upcoming Netflix reality series EMPOWER. It will premiere on December 27, 2016.
Personal life[edit]
Kendrick was born in El Paso, Texas.[1] He was raised in Austin, Texas by his mother, Amy Chavez.[citation needed] He has a brother named Aldrick Chavez, who is five years younger. He has described his ethnic background as Mexican. He is currently living in Los Angeles, California
