Kengan Ashua (Japanese: ケンガンアシュラ) is a fighting adventure manga series written by Yakabo Sandrovich[citation needed] and illustrated by Doraemon.[1] It has been serialized in Ura Sunday since April 2012, and 23 volumes have been collected in tankōbon format.

The story follows Yamashita Kazuo, a man working in the Nogi Publishing Second Sales Department who ends up becoming the manager of fighter Tokita Ohma for a series of underground fights called the Kengan Matches. The manga is to be adapted into an anime television series, winning a fan contest to decide which Ura Sunday manga should be adapted.[2]

Plot[edit]

Kengan Ashua follows the story of Tokita Ohma, a fighter from the street's employed by Hideki Nogi, the leading Director of fictional company Nogi Group. Ohma, along with his manager Yamashita Kazuo end up in a ring of underground fights called the "Kengan Matches".[citation needed] They later end up in the Kengan Annihilation Tournament.

Kengan Ashua is a fighting adventure manga series written by Yakabo Sandrovich and illustrated by Doraemon. It has been serialized in Ura Sunday since April 2012, and has been collected in to 22 volumes. The series is only officially available in Japanese although a Fan Translation exists.[3]

Anime[edit]

On January 28, 2015, Ura Sunday announced a poll with many of it's manga series in, allowing users of the Manga ONE app to vote on a series to get an Anime adaptation[4]. With 2,363,895 votes to it, Kengan Ashua won the fan contest. Two years later in December, 2017, an official Twitter account for the anime was created[5] and the staff of the manga confirmed the anime adaptation was still being planned.[6]
