Kenzoll: special purpose investment vehicle

Kenzoll was founded in 2021 by Corné Melissen, since 2006 a partner at Ramphastos Investments, the investment company of Marcel Boekhoorn. This special purpose investment vehicle follows an event-driven strategy, not shying away from emerging markets and unstructured or unconventional business opportunities. In September 2021, Kenzoll completed the acquisition of a wide array of foreign assets from Boekhoorn.[1][2] Kenzoll has no limited partners and does not manage external funds.

Energy and Impact Investment

Kenzoll has an energy group portfolio and holds several impact investments. Examples are Scimitar, with headquarters in Egypt (Scimitar Egypt, operates the large (1B barrels of oil in place) heavy oil Issaran oil field in the Eastern Desert. The mining assets are situated in Mali, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Kenzoll's Impact Investments are organized under an overarching public-private partnership Buxeros Capital, co-financed by the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF) facility, established by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Examples are Dutch engineering company Blue21, OneVault Fraud Prevention Solutions (South Africa) and AFRIpads (reusable sanitary pads).
