kew is a free and open-source terminal-based audio player software....[1] [2][3][4] [5] [6]
Features
kew is a minimalistic music player for POSIX terminals, written in C. It supports most commonly used audio file formats, including MP3, FLAC, M4A, Ogg Vorbis, and Opus. It is private, meaning it doesn't require an internet connection and works exclusively with local files, offering gapless playback, music library navigation and playlist editing.
kew doesn't use a database, instead it uses the file system directly. It can create playlists automatically with simple terminal commands.
The first version, v1.0, of kew was released Aug 6, 2023.[7]
Licensing
kew is licensed under GPL Version 2.
