Key Liza (born Kisita-Elisabeth Massamba; December 11, 1989)[1] also known as The Queen Of Beats is an Afro-German singer, rapper, composer, musician and dancer and best known for being a member of German R&B group Sistanova.

Earlier life[edit]

Kisita was born on December 11, 1989 in Hanau, Germany. Both of her parents are from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola. She has two brothers Noel and Sammuel and a sister named Lorraine. At the age of four she moved with her family to Frankfurt am Main. At the age of eleven she started getting piano, singing, dancing & theater lessons at school & gospel choir and also started beatboxing in the school recess and malls where she discovered her passion to create music Instrumentals Hip Hop Beats. She has a high school diploma. [2] [3]

Career[edit]

2004-2007: Warner Music, On Tour with Rihanna[edit]

Kisita knows Rola since childhood and they were close friends. In a school club they began to sing and take jazz dance lessons. In 2004, they met the third member Viviane and created the group Black Supremes. The band went on to regional competitions and recorded demos. Viviane's mother sent a demo to the production team Noizemakers , which took the Black Supremes under the new name Sistanova under contract. In 2006, the band was signed to Warner Music Group (Germany). On September 21, 2007 they released their first single "Was ist los?" which enters the German Charts and they performed the single the first time live on VIVA Germany. [4] [5] In November 2007 they were the opening act for American recording artist Rihanna for her European Good Girl Gone Bad Tour in (Munich/Zenith, Cologne/Palladium, Frankfurt/Jahrhunderthalle, Berlin/Columbiahalle) Germany. [6] [7] [8] In the same time they was on tour with the group Rapsoul throughout Germany and they join the NRJ Music Tour in Stuttgart with Craig David, Monrose, Culcha Candela & The Boss Hoss. [9]

2008-2010: Warner Music, Album Release[edit]

In 2008 they wrote the ballad Mama for the Mother's Day, to which a video was shot .[10][11] Sistanova sang the theme song for the children's book The HelleWecks with Thomas Anders from the popular pop-duo Modern Talking. [12] [13]

In Spring 2008 the girls worked with several producers who worked with them on their debut album like Chris Applegate (Jennifer Rush), Andreas Herbig (Culcha Candela), Remee//Toelsen (Monrose), Marcus Brosch (Lil Kim) and Michelle Leonard. During the recordings of the debut album they perfom with four-time Breakdance World Champions Flying Steps at the Tuning World Messe Bodensee where the girls present they second single "Sexy Girl" they also got a contract for the German Playboy Magazine to promote they second single "Sexy Girl". But family members didn't agreed with that, so the contract with Playboy was cancelled. [14]

On December 8, 2008 they released their debut album Unglaublich. [15] [16] [17] In 2010 they were in the German Cinema Movie Homies with actor & singer Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht.The band broke up in late 2010. According to their MySpace page, all band members will go on a solo career.

2011-present: Key Liza[edit]

In 2011 she was composing, producing and DJing songs and beats for artists & radio shows.[18] She moved in 2013 to Vancouver, Canada and is currently pursuing her solo singing career and working on her debut album.[19]

She calls her music "Future Dancehall" a crossover between Dancehall, Reggae Fusion, Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Trap & Grime

Key Liza's biggest musical inspiration are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Bone Thugs n Harmony & 2Pac Shakur. She also has a big passion for Classical music, Broadway theatre, Bollywood, music & movies from the 80s, 90s & Martial arts film. Since the age of 14 she loves to create Beats Instrumentals, Soundtrack music, Video Game Music and Theme music and which explains her nickname The Queen Of Beats.
