Keyur Bhatt is an Indian Hepatobiliary and Gastrointestinal surgeon. He is a pioneer of digestive system surgery in South Gujarat. Currently, he is the director of SIDS Hospital & Research Center. He was the first surgeon to start the dedicated program for Hepatobiliary and Gastrointestinal surgeries in the province. He started and did the first open as well as laparoscopic major liver and pancreatic surgery in Surat, South Gujarat. He is currently holding the record with Limca Book, India Books of records.[1] and Asia Book of records [2]
Early life & Education
Born in a village in Navsari district and studied up to 10th standard in the same, later on he pursued medical education from B.J. Medical College & Civil Hospital Ahmedabad, Asia’s largest civil hospital. He did further study in gastrointestinal Surgery from Gobind Ballabh Pant Hospital, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He did a master's degree from Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh. He was awarded a fellowship degree -FAIS from the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) and FACS from the American College of surgery.
Professional Career
Bhatt started his career in Surat with Shree Mahavir super-specialty hospital, as an honorary consultant in GI surgery later on a group of doctors in the same field of gastroenterology came together and started a trend changing single super specialty hospital, where all the doctors of the city in gastroenterology joined hands together and made The SIDS Hospital and Research center, first of its kind in entire western India. Bhatt is well known for his work in the field of GI Surgery, especially for Gall bladder, liver, pancreas, and complicated GI surgery cases. He successfully removed a 4.5 kg tumor from an 8-year-old boy [3] as well as he did surgery on a 103-year-old grandpa for his gall bladder rupture. His career is studded with a lot of complex and complicated G I Surgery cases [4] . He has performed more than 11,000 complex gastrointestinal cases in his early surgical career.

Bhatt is holding the record for "The longest foreign body removal from the stomach of a girl." (59 inches) with Limca book of records and India Book of Records [1].
He is also holding the record for doing remarkable laparoscopic gall bladder surgery in 6.39 minutes with India book of records [5] and Asia book of records in grandmaster category [5]

Along with that, he has more than 30 research papers and abstracts on surgery on his name along with few chapters in Gastro Surgery-related books.
