Khadija Mbowe (born 1991 or 1992) is a Canadian-Gambian YouTuber. They[lower-alpha 1] have covered topics such as Black masculinity, the male gaze, queerbaiting, and the racial history of emotional intelligence.[1]
Early life and education
Mbowe's father is Muslim and West African.[2]
They attended the University of Toronto, and graduated with a music degree in 2020.[2] Mbowe initially planned on becoming a jazz musician.[2]
Mbowe was a resident at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.[3]
Online presence
Mbowe began making YouTube videos in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.[2][4] By May 2021, they had gained 300,000 subscribers;[1] by the end of the year, they had more than 450,000.[4]
Personal life
Mbowe is queer.[2] They are aromantic,[5] and non-binary.[6]
