Khalid Dhabi
Khalid Dahbi (chef)[edit]
Khalid Dahbi is a British–Moroccan chef.[1][2], entrepreneur[3] and philanthropist[4], and also the founder and CEO of KD luxury, Beso [5]and Antoine Amato. He is well known for his culinary art and exceptionally high-standard cooking for eminent personalities and celebrities (including Kevin Spacey, Bill Clinton and Sir Ian McClellan) and was recently appreciated by Princes Harry and Meghan[6], The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for his charitable work[7] towards the survivors of the Grenfell Tower disaster.
Early years[edit]
Dahbi was born in Rabat, Morocco to a family of foodies. His late father was the main inspiration behind his passion for cooking. Khalid left Morocco at the age of 14 to continue his studies in Switzerland; in 1998, he was featured on Basel TV [8]for his volunteer work at a children’s charity in Frenkendorf, Switzerland. Khalid had always dreamed of becoming an actor and went on to become a professional chef after rejection of his application to “Cinema Citta” in Rome, Italy.[citation needed]
Career[edit]
In London, Dahbi’s career took off following stints at Bibendum restaurant, Gordon Ramsey at Claridge’s, Jamie Oliver and Rhubarb food designs. Khalid is known for his elegance and creative menus[9]
Events[edit]
In 2017, Dahbi co-founded and launched Stories from Morocco[10][11], a fashion exhibition whereby Moroccan fashion designers showcased their upcoming line of clothing.
Philanthropy[edit]
Dhabi set up the KD Foundation in 2018 as a charitable organisation in aid for children and needy women around the world, in addition to the work he carries out with UNICEF, WaterAid and local charities in Morocco.[citation needed]
