Khamis Chuwal Lom
Khamis Abdulatif Chuwal Lom is a South Sudanese military general and politician. He was appointed director general of South Sudan Radio and Television (SSRTV) via a Republican decree by President Salva Kiir in 2014. Lom resigned this appointment after four weeks in the position following a ministerial order from Makuei Lueth, the minister of information and broadcasting transferring him from the SSRTV to the ministry headquarters without a portfolio.[clarification needed] Lom said the posting without a portfolio had rendered him useless in office.[1][2][3] In 2014, Lom was listed among seven opposition leaders accused of plotting to topple the government of Salva Kiir. He was cleared of all charges of treason after an investigation.[4]
