Khosrow Rezvani

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Khosrow Rezvani[1] is a well published,[2] NIH funded Cancer Biologist, with particular interest in colorectal cancer[3] and therapies focused on inducing cancer cell suicide.[4] As a member of the American Society for Cell Biology,[5] he has published, in a Nature group magazine, about the protein UBXN2A, which is proven to promotes colon cancer cell death by interfering with the p53-Mortalin[6] as well as "Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America"[7] regarding the mechanism of cancer promotion of BRCA1 gene.[8]

He also has a keen interest hypertrophic cardiomyopathy[9] and in studying apoptosis mechanisms; in order to reduce stress-response protein expression to minimize pressure overload induced heart muscle self-destruction, cardiac wall thickening and pumping dysfunction.[10]

Multiple grants[1] were obtained by him for the University of South Dakota at Sioux City. This investment contributed to the local economy by strengthening the South Dakota's capacity for research and develop biomedical technologies.[11] In his capacity as Associate Professor, he has mentored medical students,[12] PhD candidates and young investigators[13] in furthering their knowledge of systematic research in the medical field and publishing in high impact journals.[14]
