Kids Who Rip is a DVD series that features young kids participating in extreme sports.[1] Founded by Rod Parmenter in the 1990s, the films follow almost every non-mainstream action sport including skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, BMX, unicycling and wakeboarding.[2]
The video series has an alumni list that now includes X-Games Winners and Olympic Gold Medalists, including Shaun White, Shane Bonifay and Parks Bonifay.[3] The all kids band Smoosh has had tracks featured in a recent KWR release.[4]
Releases[edit]
The first in the series was released July 19, 2005, and was screened at Japan's Banff Mountain Film Festival in 2007. Volume 2 was released October 31, 2006. Volumes 3 and 4 were released July 20, 2006.
Online[edit]
In addition to the DVD series, "Kids Who Rip" is also a social network for kids, allowing the uploading of photos, videos and music to their profiles. Those who rank highly on the social website may go on to appear in the DVD series.
