Kiinni on ja pysyy (Swe. Simmer fast som) is a 1955 Finnish Comedy Film and the fifth in the Pekka and Pätkä series. It was the second film in the series released during 1955, alongside Pekka ja Pätkä puistotäteinä and Pekka ja Pätkä pahassa pulassa. It was the fourth film in the series directed by Armand Lohikoski.[1]

The film carries the unofficial subtitle Pekan ja Pätkän uusia seikkailuja (the new adventures of Pekka and Pätkä). Officially, it's the only film of the series not to feature the names of its main characters. Esa Pakarinen and Masa Niemi are the stars. Åke Lindman makes his third and final appearance in the film series.

Plot Summary[edit]

Pekka and Pätkä try to make a world class invention in order to make money and avoid being evicted from their appartment building. They accidentally photograph a bank heist pulled by a group of gangsters and manage to develop an extremely powerful adhesive.

Production[edit]

Reino Helismaa wrote the script originally as starring two inventors[2], but Toivo Särkkä forced the film to be reworked as an entry in the Pekka Puupää series. Pekka and Pätkä's penchant for inventing is therefore never explained. Their home is shown to be considerably different from other films in the series. The film is also missing series regulars like Siiri Angerkoski (who only appears in a portrait in the film) and Armas Jokio.[3]
