Kilenmeren AO is an Indian archer who has represented the nation at the Asia Cup Archery, 2017 in Chinese Taipei. He is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Programme. [3]
Early life and background
Hailing from Mopungchuket Village in Mokokchung District, Nagaland, Kilenmeren was a 13-year-old Class 8 student when an archery coach, Mave Chakhesang, came to his school in 2011. Young Kilenmeren used to train with bows and arrows made of bamboo and competed in local tournaments in Nagaland.
Career
His first major tournament was the 33rd Sub-Junior National Archery Championship 2013 in Bangalore, where he represented Nagaland. He did not win any medals there but has won at least one medal in every competition since. His first major title came in the form of a gold medal at the 35th Sub-Junior National Archery Championship 2015. He also won bronze in the Olympic round and gold in the Distance round during another sub-junior national archery competition the same year in Hyderabad. In November of the same year, he was selected as one of four boys and four girls for the Sub-Junior India Team to undergo a month’s training in Korea.[4] In 2017, Kilenmeren finished 5th at the Senior National Archery Championship, ahead of most of his seniors. It was an incredible achievement given that he was only 18 years old.

- 2016: Silver Medal, Sub-Junior Nationals, Goa.
