Kim Ye-rim (born March 5, 1999), better known by her stage name Yeri, is a South Korean singer. She is a member of South Korean girl group Red Velvet.
Early life and education[edit]
Yeri was born on March 5, 1999 in Seoul, South Korea.[1] She attends Hanlim Multi Art School.[2]
Career[edit]
Pre-debut and S.M. Rookies[edit]
She was casted in the 2011 SM Global Auditions and joined S.M. Entertainment in the same year.[3] In 2014, she was introduced as a member of S.M. Entertainment's pre-debut group, SM Rookies.[3] She performed with SM Rookies at 2014 SM Town concert and also made a cameo in Red Velvet's "Happiness" music video along with them.[4]
2015–present: Red Velvet and solo activities[edit]
On March 10, 2015, Yeri debuted as a member of Red Velvet.[5]
From May 9, 2015 to November 14, 2015, Yeri hosted the MBC music program, Show! Music Core.[6] In July 2016, Yeri was the female lead in the music video for J-Min and Shim Eun-jee's "Way Back Home", which was released as part of the single project SM Station.[7] In 2016, she became MC for a SM C&C new web-variety program The Viewable SM together with Leeteuk.[8]
Personal life[edit]
She has three younger siblings.[citation needed] On October 10, 2016, Yeri and Seulgi had gotten into a car accident that unabled Yeri to keep promoting with Red Velvet until she recovered.[9]
