Kang Seul-gi (Hangul: 강슬기; born February 10, 1994) is a South Korean singer and dancer. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Red Velvet.
Biography
Seulgi was born in Seoul, South Korea on February 10, 1994.
She studied at Ansan Byeolmang Middle School and Seoul Performing Arts High School.
In 2007, she became a trainee at S.M. Entertainment. She is called the '2nd Taeyeon' because of her strong vocal skills. She was also featured in ABC News' 'Kpop Boot Camp' segment, along with two other trainees. [1]
Career
S.M. ROOKIES
Seulgi was part of S.M. Entertainment's pre-debut group, S.M ROOKIES, along with fellow Red Velvet members, Irene and Wendy. She was officially revealed to be a part of the S.M. ROOKIES Project on December 3, 2013.[2]
S.M. Entertainment's official YouTube channel released a clip of Seulgi singing 'Christmas Carol' and another named 'Sweet cake'. They also released video clips of Seulgi and Red Velvet's leader Irene showcasing their skills in a dance titled "Be Natural." [3]
In 2014, before Red Velvet debuted, Seulgi collaborated with Henry in his song "Butterfly".

Seulgi made her official debut with Red Velvet (band) on August 1, 2014.[4]
Promotions
In 2014, she was featured as the female lead in Henry Lau's music video for "Fantastic". Seulgi was featured in the February 2014 issue of 'The Celebrity Magazine' with current fellow member Irene and two other S.M. Rookies, Taeyong and Johnny.[5] Seulgi was also featured in the July 2014 issue of 'MAPS Magazine' with current fellow members Irene and Wendy.
