King Deco is a Jordanian-born recording artist living in New York City. In 2013, she digitally released her first song, "One," produced by Felix Snow.
About[edit]
Jordanian-born Dana Salah began singing, writing, producing and DJing shortly after moving to the United States to enroll in Duke University. After graduation, she moved to New York City to pursue a full-time career in music – focusing less on DJing and production to develop her own artistry and, in 2013, invented the "King Deco" persona and her "Decosphere" aesthetic.[1] The first song she released as King Deco was "One" featuring production from Warner/Chappell producer Felix Snow.[2]
King Deco is currently working on her first two EPs, entitled Tigris[3] and Euphrates, which will feature songwriting and production from Kinetics & One Love, Felix Snow and Adam Pallin of the NYC group ASTR.
King Deco was recently featured on MTV's buzzworthy 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week along with Shakira and others. "The opening track is also the most revelatory, as the songstress tells the tale of leaving her homeland to pursue her dreams stateside and sending her fears down below the sea."[4]
