Kings of Chaos is a strategy game; the player controls an army of their race. In the game, players can purchase different items, train troops, form alliances, and recruit new players.
Gameplay
Each new game in Kings of Chaos is called an Age. At the end of each Age, a new one starts: all player information is reset and the game starts again from the beginning. Ages usually last for approximately 10–12 months, with some ages lasting longer than 1 year. Kings of Chaos is in the 18th Age as of December 2014.
Players and Races
Kings of Chaos has 2,020 active players as of January 21, 2015. Players are divided into 5 races; the table below shows the racial demographics.

| Number of Players | 776 | 250 | 360 | 452 | 182 |
| Percentage of Population | 38% | 12% | 18% | 22% | 9% |
| Special Bonuses | 30% Income Bonus 35% Spy Bonus |
40% Defense Bonus 15% Income Bonus |
45% Spy Bonus 70% Fewer Casualties |
35% Attack Bonus 20% Defense Bonus |
35% Sentry Bonus 85% Fewer Casualties |
Objectives
The goal of the game is to have the best stats at the end of the age, with the player having the best overall stats winning. For example, if a player has 1, 1, 1, 1 (SA, DA, Spy, Sentry) he/she undisputedly wins the age. If it is 2, 1, 2, 1 (SA, DA, Spy, Sentry) then the player with the lowest total—here the total is 6(2+1+2+1)—wins the age.
Turn Based Gold (TBG), Recruiting and Morale
Each player gets a turn-based gold (TBG) of 1 gold for a soldier and 1 gold for every ten spy or sentry units. Mercenaries however don't produce turn based gold. There is also a unique recruit link that each player can click 5 time every 24 hours to gain soldiers. There is also a recruiter in which one can click others' link to increase ones morale, which determines how often their own recruit link is clicked.
Strategy
The basic strategy is to have the biggest army possible to get the maximum TBG and invest the gold to get the best stats.
Alliances
Players who share a common goal may form alliances with other players and coordinate actions with allies.
