Kiran Dutta popularly known as The Bong Guy. He is a YouTuber, Actor, Singer and songwriter. Kiran is the first Bengali language content creator from West Bengal.[1] [2]
Early life and education
Kiran is a Bengali born in Rajasthan. Later, his family moved to Dhubulia, Nadia in West Bengal. Kiran went to Dhubulia Deshbandhu High school, and after higher secondary education, he moved to Kolkata to pursue civil engineering from Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Garia Kolkata.
Career
'The Bong Guy' launched his YouTube channel in 2015 but started taking YouTube seriously from 2017. He became popular among the masses in the same year for his content. He is mainly famous for his comedy and witty videos and original music videos. Kiran launched his second YouTube channel, 'Your Bong Guy', where he uploads vlogs and gaming videos.
Works
'Opekkha' was the first music video Kiran featured in. This was followed by 'The Lockdown Song', which became very popular. In 2021, Kiran made his debut in a web series named 'Time Up'. Kiran's debut film was Kolkata Chalantika, directed by Pavel.[3]
Kiran collaborated on a music video with KKR for its anthem 'KKR Taiyaar hai'. He has also collaborated with famous actors from both Bollywood and Tollywood. In 2018, he was associated with Dev for the promotion of Hoichoi Unlimited, and again this year, he collaborated with Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee for the promotion of their film 'Kacher Manush'. He has also been associated with the promotion of his debut film Kolkata Chalantika with his co-star Sourav Das and the director of the film, Pavel. In 2019, Kiran collaborated with the Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt to promote their film 'Kalank'.
Kiran was part of India's first Metaverse Stand Up Comedy event organized by Eno and hosted by comedian Zakir Khan. In 2021, Kiran was featured in 'Ishq with Nusrat', hosted by actor Nusrat Jahan. More recently, he has been part of a cooking show 'Chef It Up' with Chef Sanjyot Keer.
Kiran is the first and only Bengali creator to feature on Netflix YouTube channel on their show Menu Please, where he took them throughout famous places to find the best pujo foods.
