Kiril A. Pandelisev is an American entrepreneur who is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Single Crystal Technologies, a patent holding company); H&P Medical Research; and the CRC Crystal Research Corporation.[1]

Education[edit]

Pandelisev has a B.Sc. degree in Applied Physics from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Macedonia, in 1973, a M.Sc. degree in Physics and a Sc.D degree in Physics from the same University in 1984.

Career[edit]

Kiril A. Pandelisev started his career working on optical thin films; his masters Thesis was on Thin Film Interference Polarizing Filters. At ASU he entered the thin film solid state devices. He was the first to apply superconductors such as Bismuth Oxide for Metal Interfacial Layer Semiconductor (MIS) thin film solar cells.[citation needed] One of his doctoral thesis publications has been cited over 35 times. His studies on MIS solar cells was expanded with Auger Electron Spectroscopy analysis of the'Gallium Arsenide-Interfacial layer interface and the Interfacial layer-Metal (gold) interface. His doctoral thesis Auger Electron Spectroscopy of Metal Insulator Semiconductor and Other Thin Film Structures resulted in six publications in scientific journals such as the Journal of Applied Physics, Thin Solid Films, Applied Surface Science.[2]

He was as a member of the faculty of Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Macedonia from 1975 to 1984. He was a Fulbright and Exchange Scientist at Arizona State University from 1979 to 1982. Before accepting an offer for Research Analysts from Arizona State University in 1984 he spent 3 months at the International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy.[3]

Dr. Pandelisev was a research analyst at Arizona State University from 1985 to 1988, where he built the Gallium Arsenide Crystal Growth Laboratory as part of DARPA program. He also served as a research physicist at Johnson Matthey Electronics from 1988 to 1990, where he expanded his work at ASU to a more sophisticated Autonomous crystal growth of Gallium Arsenide Crystals as part of a USAF-Canadian Government research program. In 1991 he joined Horiba Instruments from Japan as a senior research scientist where he entered the field of growth of scintillation crystals for medical, high energy and other applications.

In 1993 he founded CRC Crystal Research Corp and Optoscint Inc, a patent holding company, and has contributed to the crystal growth of crystals for scintillation and optical crystals, new materials for alternative green energy and other applications. Photonic Crystals for Electromagnet Radiation and Radar Stealth and EM based medical devices are his current interest. He was President and Director of most of his corporations starting with CRC and Optoscint in 1993.[3] In 1993, Pandelisev founded CRC Crystal Research Corp and has been its President, Director and Treasurer since 1993 till date.[4]

Before entering the world of business, Dr. Pandelisev was a teacher and researcher in physics and material sciences for over 35 years in Arizona University and other higher institutions. Over the last 15 years he has been a participant in Intel’s International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) as a judge for physics and Material Science. Three years ago and through his Company H&P Medical Research Inc., he established Best of Philippines at ISEF award. He has written more than 5 books for all levels of physics education, over 50 articles to scientific and technical journals and proceedings and has over 100 patents granted or pending in the USA and abroad.[5] His Book Series Problems in Physics with solutions is expected this year. This series is aimed at an international audience as a supplemental material in the physics teaching.[6]
