Dr. Komaragiri Suhasini Anand (born 27 June 1971) is an Indian politician from the state of Andhra Pradesh[1]. She is also a cost accountant, play-back singer and former All India Radio newsreader[2]. She represented BJP in the Visakhapatnam East constituency in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election[3]. She served as the Official Spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh and is currently serving as the State Executive Member.

Dr. Suhasini Anand has completed her PhD from Andhra University and is fluent in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and English.

Early life and Education[edit]

Suhasini Anand was born in Hyderabad, India. Her mother is a retired accountant from BSNL, and her father, Palagummi Rajagopal, is a Music Director, playback singer and a retired officer at Comptroller and Auditor General of India. She spent her early years of education in Hyderabad and Chennai. She graduated from Meenakshi College for Women and later did her Master of Arts and PhD from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.

Music and Cultural Activities[edit]

Suhasini started training [Carnatic Music]] under her father at a young age through her childhood in Hyderabad and Chennai. She was a gifted singer who translated her skill into a career way before her formal training in music from Andhra University. She recorded her first song in 'Geetha Shankaram'[4], a devotional music album about the divine love between Shiva and Parvati. She sang alongside S.P.Balasubramanyam[5], Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna[6], P.Susheela, Vani Jairam[7] and other renowned artists.

Under the cultural organization Rasi Cares[8], Suhasini Anand organized the celebration of 1000 of years of Andhra Mahabharatam written by Adi Kavi Nannayya in 2022 across 3 cities - Visakhapatnam[9], Rajahmundry[10] and Hyderabad[11]

Politics[edit]

Dr. Suhasini Anand joined BJP in 2014. Being an educated and multi-lingual female representative in the region, her skills have allowed her to rapidly bridge the gap between voters and representatives. She served as a Telecom Advisory Committee member for BSNL from 2014 to 2018[12].

She also served as the State Official Spokesperson for BJP Andhra Pradesh from 2018 t0 2023. As the spokesperson and voice of BJP in the state of Andhra Pradesh, she represented and communicated several policies and welfare schemes that the central government granted to the state.[13][14][15][16] This was especially valuable during Covid-19 pandemic where an immediate redeployment of support was needed across the state as well as the country. She is also a vocal supporters of women's rights and has supported many such initiatives. [17]

Dr. Suhasini Anand represented the Visakhapatnam East constituency in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[18] She is now serving as the BJP State Executive Member in Andhra Pradesh.
